Senator John A. Pagliarini Jr., (R-Dist. 11, Portsmouth, Bristol, Tiverton) offered his congratulations to two Small Business Week Award winners from his district …

I am so pleased to see that some of our local businesses have been recognized in this way. Running a small business can be a very demanding labor of love so it is that much more rewarding when one’s work is honored.

Jane McHenry, the owner and chief designer at A Day At the Beach in Tiverton, was named the 2016 Rhode Island Home-Based Small Business of the year. Jane hunts sea glass all over the world to design and make jewelry in her home studio. In the years since beginning her business, Jane has added six wholesale locations and grown her online presence.

In Portsmouth, Linda and Bill Bohmbach won the 2016 Rhode Island and New England Microenterprise of the Year for their business, Home Healthsmith. The pair helps their clients achieve mobility and safety in their homes by offering solutions to accommodate needs such as elevators, stair lifts and other home modifications. The two and their team recently opened the Center for Adaptive Living at High Point in Portsmouth.

I am so proud of the award winners. They are proof that the entrepreneurial spirit and the opportunity to grow a business are alive and well in the Ocean State.

Senator John A. Pagliarini
