Letter: Council president was out of order

Posted

To the editor:
I would like to address this to all citizens of Warren: If you were not at the council meeting of July 11th please review the video on the town’s web page and watch our council president show his ignorance to the Democratic process in running a town government meeting.
I have had a long disagreement with the Town Manager relating to the repairs of our sidewalks, in which my opinion he has been incompetent to handle this issue. In a recent e-mail, he proclaimed that I had a potential law suite pending against the town, in which he placed a GAG order to all town employees not to speak to me.
This is untrue, and I asked to be heard at this council meeting to address the false allegations, and the slanderous remarks against me. I was given time to come up and address my concerns, when the president decided to jump out and attack me on previous e-mails I engaged with him. As I tired to bring
the attention to what the manager did, the president, solicitor and town manager then played the three monkeys, see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil, I then was ruled OUT OF ORDER! And then was removed by our police department. How was I out of order as I was trying to address the illegal actions made to me by the town manager? My opinion is our council president does not know how to
properly run a Democratic meeting and violates citizens’ rights to address issues with the town. Whats your opinion!
