Letter: How about peace at home first?

Reciting self-important, maternal shrills about the welfare of strangers oceans away is, apparently, an effective distraction from how poorly you’ve kept your own backyard.

Letter: How about peace at home first?

To the editor:

What’s with boomerlibs and hoary Bob Dylan lyrics? If your youthtime, counterculture rebel becomes a Nobel Laureate, you’ve become the Establishment.

Although the East Bay Citizens for Peace have chimed in, now and again, with the same kumbaya pablum since the Patriot Act (the last time lefties celebrated the Constitution, albeit only as an obstacle to Bush), I take special exception to Nancy Hood’s latest contribution.

Whether its Palestine or Ukraine, Hood and her type have vocally defended the integrity of territories thousands of miles away while their own country struggles to build a wall. Anybody who’s seen the jerry-rigged combat vehicles on which Hamas crept into Israel instantly knows, like our southern border, this invasion was allowed to occur.

For a peacenik Hood seems oblivious to the fact that our tax dollars typically fund as many sides of a conflict as are profitable for some of the same politicians she and others might idolize. Does she imagine Iran spent the $6 billion Biden gave them to supply Hamas with religious diversity brochures?

Come to think of it, on my way to get stamps I never saw Hood’s clique demonstrate against Mrs. Clinton digging her bloody hooks into Libya.

Incidentally, it’s funny how—now that things are heating up—recruitment ads are backpedaling on the two-mommy, POC, girl-power promos and harping on valor, excellence, and of course, masculinity. “Why white men make better cannon fodder” is a question neither Hood nor her playmates have the moral courage to ask.

The EBCP did, however, hold a vigil in 2016 concerning Trump’s victory. As per a statement they published on RIFuture.org, they feared it would “encourage bullying and discrimination, endanger our environment beyond repair, cause even more conflict abroad and result in further wealth inequality, destroying the middle class and working class.”

Well, considering the crackdowns on LGBT visibility in America's first muslim-majority city, Hamtramck, Mich., the disaster in Palestine (Ohio), two separate proxy wars, our inflated economy, and endless subsidies for illegals (some of whom now prefer Venezuela to Chicago), most of these fears have come to pass under the lifeless watch of our current Cadaver-in-Chief—and many are simply the direct results of policies that lefties unabashedly endorse!

Roll up the world map and take a drive through Providence. Even new residents will tell you that they’d feel safer if the city were still controlled by organized crime rather than by its new ruling class of disordered crooks.

Reciting self-important, maternal shrills about the welfare of strangers oceans away is, apparently, an effective distraction from how poorly you’ve kept your own backyard.
