Letter: Ideas to modernize town services are appealing

I work full time and my wife works a full-time job plus a part-time job. We have two teenage daughters who each have their own after school activities, and we also have a dog named Daisy. We live a good, full life here in Bristol, but one that does not allow for leisurely trips to Town Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

It has been pleasantly refreshing to hear new ideas, from a candidate for Town Clerk, of how to save my family time and to make sure we are getting what our tax dollars have paid for.

I can pay my mortgage online, make doctors’ appointments online, shop online, read the newspaper online — the list goes on and on. It just doesn’t make sense that I can have my dog Daisy’s food delivered to my house, but I have to take time out of work to get her licensed.

My parents are retired and can conduct their business in the Town Hall just as they did 25 years ago. But for my family, I need a more convenient option.
