To the editor:

I would like to commend the Barrington School Committee and the School Department for their efforts toward getting our schools to a two-tier schedule.

In a town the size of Barrington, schools starting at three different times is not efficient or helpful to families.

I also applaud the voters of Barrington for showing their support for these changes by voting in school committee candidates who all ran on a platform of making our children’s health, both mental and physical, a top priority. Science-based changes do not equal coddling our kids. Rather it shows them that their health and wellness can be a priority throughout their lives, even when change feels difficult.

We will all adjust to the relatively slight start time changes, and the results can prove beneficial in countless ways.

Thanks again and keep up the hard work! It is so appreciated and respected by many.
