To the editor,

Westport’s Annual Town Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at Westport High School. A Special Town Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m. The warrants can be seen on the Town Meeting website www.westportownmeeting.com.

Please be reminded that any voter may make a presentation up to 10 minutes in length for or against any warrant article provided it is arranged in advance and supported by visual aids. Handouts may be placed on the entrance table if they are approved in advance.

Those who have petition articles before the meeting must be present to make a motion when their article is announced.

To arrange a presentation, submit a handout for approval, ask a question or for any help you may need to participate fully in Town Meeting, please contact me by email at Moderator@westporttownmeeting.com or by phone at 508 496-8978.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
