Letter: North Burial Ground approaches 200 years of service
To the editor,
I want to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate this week the 195th anniversary of North Burial Ground. On April 17, 1822, the Bristol Town Council approved the establishment of North Burial Ground and has been in continuous service for 195 years, welcoming families of all faiths and denomination from the town of Bristol.
Space remains available in North Burial Ground for you and your family to participate in this legacy. There are accommodations for both traditional and cremation burials. The Cremation Garden has received national recognition for design with its various cremation niches and settings. Please contact Enzly Ramsay, the superintendent, to make an appointment to discuss the various options available to you and your family.
North Burial Ground belongs to the town of Bristol. The operation and maintenance costs do not rely on tax dollars. The money for the operating expenses, maintenance and the care fund come from income derived from sales and services at North Burial Ground.
