Letter: Only you can Keep Bristol Clean

To the editor:

Save The Bay is conducting a cleanup of the Bristol Harbor shoreline in conjunction with the Keep Bristol Clean town-wide cleanup event coordinated annually by the Bristol Department of Public Works. We encourage all Bristol residents who are physically able to celebrate Earth Month by participating in a cleanup at locations throughout Bristol on Saturday, April 29.

Volunteers interested in assisting Save The Bay with the cleanup of the Bristol Harbor shoreline should register by April 28 at the following Save The Bay link: volunteer.savebay.org/need/detail/?need_id=249761.

Bristol Harbor cleanup volunteers should check in with Save The Bay at Independence Park at 9 a.m. on April 29. The cleanup concludes at noon. Those participating should dress for the weather and wear clothing that provides protection from chilly waterfront air temperatures and thorny brush. Closed-toe shoes are required, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Save The Bay will provide disposable gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, and light refreshments. Trash bags are provided by the town of Bristol.

We are counting on you to Keep Bristol Clean!
