To the editor: The
Bay Spring Community Center (BSCC) is a volunteer-run arts and cultural center that is a gem for Barrington and the East Bay. Family-friendly events and programs are organized by the non-profit Friends of the Bay Spring Community Center. We are grateful for our strong public-private partnership with the Town of Barrington which owns this 105-year old former firehouse on 170 Narragansett Avenue.
Nicknamed the Shangri-La by musician, activist, and BSCC crowd-pleaser Phil Edmonds, the Center attracts multi-generational fans, from toddlers to centenarians!
We sponsored dozens of events in 2014: music, visual and theater arts, events for children, and spoken word programming that reached hundreds of Barrington and East Bay residents. The BSCC is also a place for you to visit with your neighbors. It’s where strangers meet and become friends, a welcoming place where you make connections.
Come to an event and experience it yourself! Join us at our next show, a Local Brew Coffeehouse featuring
The Gnomes and
Bay Spring Folk on December 5 at 7:00 pm. Visit
www.bsccri.org for more information about this show and the BSCC.
We hope to see you soon at an upcoming event. Come join the fun as we build community, embrace diverse cultures, and support and showcase local artists, storytellers, and musicians.
