Letter: Statement about me is false and inaccurate

Posted

As your Bristol Town Councilman for the past five years, I have served you the residents of this wonderful community with honor and integrity. Working diligently to ensure every decision I have made has been done with honesty, transparency, and fairness, never putting my interests and/or opinions at the forefront.

It is my belief that every political leader must reflect and practice strong ethical values. One of which I am proud to have illustrated throughout my tenure.

As we begin the political season, undoubtedly prospective candidates may choose to share information with inaccurate accounts to benefit their cause. In last week's Phoenix, letter to the editor, Council candidate Mr. Patrick McCarthy states, “Councilman Ed Stuart often mentions how the property reevaluation process underway will be the solution.” This statement is false and inaccurate, never have I made such a statement.

As your Councilman, I have worked bi-partisan with my colleagues and administration to address every budget and capital project initiative.  Working collaboratively so that every decision will be in the best interest of all residents, not a selected few.

To all political candidates — let’s keep all views and opinions truthful and honest so that Bristol residents can make the best and most informed decision as they choose the best candidate to represent them on the Bristol Town Council and in all elected offices.
