Letter: Thanks for helping 'Stamp Out Hunger'

To the editor:

We at TAPIN (Touch a Person in Need) would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Barrington community for helping us collect over 4,200 pounds of food for East Bay families in need during the US Postal Service Letter Carriers’ annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive held this past Saturday, May 13.

The food was generously donated by the community and picked up throughout the day by our hard-working Barrington letter carriers. We appreciate their efforts, not just for the Hunger Drive, but all year long.

We are also extremely grateful for the scores of community volunteers from Barrington public schools, Boy Scout Troop 6, the YMCA, St. Andrew's School, and local residents who came in for three shifts on Saturday to weigh, sort and shelve 4,200 pounds of donated food.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our devoted TAPIN volunteers who participated (with all of those mentioned above) to help our neighbors.
