Letter: Thanks for supporting youth mission projects

To the editor:

Dear friends and members of the Barrington community,

Just a few words to thank The Barrington Times for running the announcement about the yard sale and car wash held at the Barrington United Methodist on Aug. 26.

This was a project sponsored by the youth of the Barrington United Methodist Church and First UMC of Warren/Bristol. Youth, their parents and members of both churches helped to make this a successful and fun day. We thank those in our communities that came out and supported our youth. Also abundant thanks to the — over 25 — town residents who pulled into our parking lot on Washington Road to give our youth the opportunity to wash your car and spread some joy! They raised over $737. This will support our youth mission projects to serve others.

We are blessed to be a blessing to this community and beyond. Our joint youth group is starting up again for the year and we invite youth grades 6 and up to join us on the first and third Sundays of the month from 5 to 7 p.m. We end our meeting with a potluck. In October we are meeting at the Barrington UMC (230 Washington Road). Parents are welcome to stay.
