Letter: Time to find better leadership for Warren

Three cheers to Councilman Stanley for addressing his concerns regarding the Town Manager Reitsma, as I have been out spoken regarding issues that I felt were not right with his running this office, Reitsma seems to not be in the interest of the Citizens/Taxpayers of Warren. My issue was the lack of repairing the sidewalks within the Town, in which for the last 18 months he has done nothing to promote some type of plan to address this issue. He was the main reason why I filed Civil Action for the repairs to my scooter and the repair to the sidewalk along Metacom Ave. Now I am making another crack at Civil Actions due to his false allegations and slanderous remarks made to me, over an issue that doesn't even exist.

Then lets not forget the repair to Cole Street, at $57K that added an additional sidewalk that ran parallel to the bike path. There still has been nothing from town officials to address this waste of tax dollars. Also to add insult the project never had plans to install a handy cap wheel chair ramp required by ADA law. This is an additional cost of approximately $9,000 of taxpayers money. These are questions asked to our Town Officials which stay tight lipped and say nothing. This is not open Government, I am sure there are other blunders caused by Mr. Manager, I believe the Town Charter requires a annual evaluation of the performance of the Manager, My vote would be an F and start looking for a more competent person to do the job.
