On the eve of another great opportunity by the Solarize Bristol program, I want to encourage fellow Bristolians to take advantage of this wonderful program.
Last year at this time we were one of the first to install solar panels on our house through the first Solarize Bristol program and can’t say enough good things about it. We not only are “off the grid” and pay virtually nothing for electricity, we are actually making money from National Grid … for the next 15 years. (And, we have a teenager at home that seems to use every electric outlet and device and in our house.)
Our payback on the solar panels is now about five and a half years. The incentive programs are terrific, and if more of you sign up, that further increases your savings. The installers did our house in two and a half days, and then with one more visit we were up and running.
Our panels have survived winter storms, heavy rains, and wind guests. You can see how much electricity you generate on an app on your computer or phone. The ultimate beneficiaries are all of us, particularly our grandchildren, by using a clean, natural energy source.
I hope you will support the next phase of the Solarize Bristol program.
