Letter: Westport’s fortunate to have Shufelt as candidate

To the editor:

I am supporting Shana Shufelt for the Westport Board of Selectmen. It will be uplifting to have a board of "selectpersons" with a woman on the board again!  I have known Shana for several years, originally from interactions in our church but also as she has become involved in and excelled in her work for the town. She is now truly an expert on town finances — her "special interest"  some might say.

Her competence, straightforwardness, no-nonsense approach to life and work coupled with a basic kindness and consideration do make her special.

We must count ourselves fortunate that this successful businesswoman, mother of teenage children and town volunteer is willing to run for the Board of Selectmen.  I urge you to vote for Shana on April 12th.
