Letter: What makes Little Compton so lovable?

To the editor:

In this, our holiday season, we have much reason to be thankful. In that spirit, a recent gathering of Little Compton community members thought it was a great time to ask, "What do you love about Little Compton?"

At ten locations around town, from Town Hall to Crowther's to Simmons Cafe, we have put up poster boards and markers to collect your input.  Please take a minute to share with others what it is that you love about Little Compton.  We will be soliciting your thoughts from December 8th to 22nd.

Our purpose?  To gather our community in conversation.  With change creeping in all around us, we'd like to get a sense of what we all value, and what is "magic" about Little Compton.  We welcome any and all input. Please add your voice to this Little Compton conversation!

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
