Lieselotte H. Bowen, 96, formerly of Little Compton, and Mansfield, Mass., died of natural causes at Royal Health in Falmouth, Mass., on April 1, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Bowen, and her beloved son, Udo.

Born in Hanover, Germany, on September 2, 1920, she was the daughter of Karl Albert Wilhelm Homann and Marie Karoline Sophia Roever Homann.

As a young woman she worked at her father’s leather goods store until it was destroyed in World War II. While working for a chaplain on a U.S. Army Base in Germany, she met and married Harry Bowen. They settled in Mansfield, Mass.
Over the years she held many positions at Bird Machine Company, South Walpole, Mass., and at Pioneer Mutual Funds in Boston, where she was employed as a secretary and translator. Later she drove a school bus and worked as a nanny for two families in Newton and Attleboro.

In recent years she lived in Cotuit, Mass. Lieselotte (Lilo) will be remembered for her cheery smile, her generous nature, and, most of all, her loving personality by a host of friends and caretakers.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements by John-Lawrence Funeral Home.
