LITTLE COMPTON — The Little Compton Town Council and Recreation Committee have formally approved plans to offer pickleball to the community. Pickleball will be played on the town’s tennis courts, located next to the new recreation field located on Meeting House Lane.

A kick-off event is being held on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 5 p.m. Demonstrations, basic instruction, information and playtime is planned. Pickle rackets and balls will offered for use at the kick off. Refreshments will be available. Registration would be helpful. https://form.jotform.com/82204084827153

The Town Council has authorized the purchase of one pickleball net. Additional equipment such as balls, racquets and a second net will need to be purchased for general use. We have a fundraising goal of $1,000 which we secure by a silent auction and donations. For now, players will need to supply other equipment and blue painter’s tape for temporary lines.
