"Being able to make music and perform with my dad has been the greatest gift," said Jesse Liam Gauthier, 28, who, along with his father Jack Gauthier, has been performing locally for 13 years as the Jesse Liam Band. Jesse Liam sings, while Jack plays guitar and harmonizes.
"We have a really tight harmony," said Jesse Liam, crediting much of that to the family connection. It's a full-time job for Jesse Liam who manages all the bookings for the some 50 performances they hold between May and September, as well as handling their social media promotion. Jack is also a recording engineer who manages some blues acts.
Mindful of all they've been given, the Gauthiers like to give back. This December marks their 8th annual Toy-Drive Concert Tour. They decided to partner with the Marines’ Toys-For-Tots Holiday Program back in 2010. While singing for their fans and shoppers in malls across southern New England, they collected toy donations at each concert tour stop. Then in 2015, Jesse Liam made a connection with The Providence Center, a group that helps people of all ages with psychiatric illnesses and addictions. The group also supports families in need. Jesse saw a way start a new toy-drive tradition, and every year since, the Providence Center has been the beneficiary of the drive.
This holiday season, the Gauthiers invite you to join in song at the Jesse Liam Band concerts and bring a toy. Donations will go to helping those less fortunate this holiday season.
The following shows will be head in the East Bay, but visit www.jesseliam.com for concerts elsewhere in southeastern New England.
