Mrs. Louise Lora (Ouellette) Fletcher, age 84 of Evelyn Drive, Bristol, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016.

She was the wife of the late Dr. Paul Francis Fletcher, her husband of 61 years, two peas in a pod.

She was born in 1931 on Mt. Hope Avenue in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Rose (Leferriere) Ouellette. Originally a French Canadian seamstress, she was smitten by her husband and became a homemaker. Her accomplishments were raising seven children and helping to raise 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Louise was an artist in her own right, creating beautiful knitted sweaters, slippers, and afghans for family and friends alike. She was a humble woman and if asked what her greatest accomplishments were she would say her children. She worked tirelessly to support her children to be themselves to take whatever path in life they chose. Her philosophy was similar to an old folk musicians song, “Let the children play.”

Like her father she was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. You may have seen Louise, who logged in many miles, with her “Golden Girlfriends” as she was walking Hopeworth Avenue daily. Louise will be missed in her beloved town of Bristol, where she and Paul could be seen taking in the view from the Bagel Shop, overlooking the Parade route, as well as the soccer fields at Colt State Park where she encouraged her grandchildren and great grandchildren!

She is survived by seven children; Donna Fletcher, Portland, Oregon, Paul F. Fletcher, Jr. (Kristin Komiega), Portsmouth, Christopher R. Fletcher (Marybeth Pezzullo), Bristol, Rosemary Farrar (Scott), Rehoboth, MA, Patrick M. Fletcher (Patricia Mello), Bristol, Peter R. Fletcher (Jon Maier), New York City and Kevin C. Fletcher, Bristol, grandchildren, Jasmine, Yahanna, Chelsea, Kate, Nathan, Samuel, Rachel, Joshua, Isaiah, Justine, Samantha, Lauren and Oliver, great grandchildren, Aedan, Lia, Andre, Jr. and Isabelle.  Also survived by Jeanne Posey.  In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by a grandson, Jarred and sisters Pauline,Margaret, Marie, Virginia and a brother, Roger.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service, Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at noon in the First Congregational Church, 300 High St., Bristol. Burial will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Best Buddies, a special needs organization. Please make checks payable to DRRHS Best Buddies at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, 2700 Regional Road, North Dighton, MA 02764 or online at https://www.gofundme.com/hfsc5bsk
