Man charged with felony assault at marijuana dispensary

PORTSMOUTH — A 34-year-old Fall River man was charged with felony assault using a dangerous weapon or substance after police responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Greenleaf Compassion Center on West Main Road around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Police said they arrested Calvin A. Zeigler, of 72 Bowers St., Apt. 2, after responding to a report of suspicious activity at the medical marijuana dispensary.

Here are some other highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Saturday, Sept. 8

Jonah E. Gadoury, 31, of 12 Weeden Lane, Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) following a motor vehicle accident on East Main Road at Glen Road around 6:30 p.m. Mr. Gadoury was also cited for refusing a chemical test and possession of less and an ounce of marijuana, police said.

Sunday, Sept. 9

Christopher A. Howe, 32, of 101 Greaton Drive, Apt. 1, West Roxbury, Mass., was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) around 6:30 p.m. Police responded to the area of Turnpike Avenue and Freeborn Street after receiving a request to check the condition of a driver. Mr. Howe was also cited for refusing a chemical test, police said.

Carolyn M. Caliri, 53, of 2121 West Main Road, Apt. 705, was charged with domestic assault after police responded to Bayview Apartments around 8 p.m. to investigate a report of an domestic disturbance.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Tracey A. Blake, 47, of 127 Freeborn St., was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after she was pulled over for a traffic violation on Route 24 South at Boyds Lane around 6 p.m. She was also cited for refusing a chemical test, according to police. 

Wednesday, Sept. 12

Jean R. Quinones-Baez, 35, of 1132 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford, was charged with disorderly conduct (fighting/tumultuous behavior) after police responded to the area of West Main Road and Melville School around 8 a.m. to check the condition of the driver.
