Maria Eduarda Braga, 77, of Bristol

Maria Eduarda (Sousa) Braga, 77, of Pearse Avenue, Bristol, passed away on April 20, 2018, at home. She was the wife of Manuel Braga.

Born in Villa Franca do Campo, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Lopes) Sousa.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Joe Braga, John Braga and his wife Deb, Grace Cordeiro and her husband David, Arthur DeBraga and his wife Helena, and Sandy DeBraga; grandchildren, Amanda DeBraga, Brandon Braga, Joshua Braga, Matthew Braga, Andrew Johnson, Megan Cordeiro-Ferreira, Jennifer Kennery, Arthur Medeiros, Timothy Medeiros and Jalon Roberson; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Bailey, Connor Bailey, Landyn Braga, Jayden Medeiros, Quinn Kennery, Aiden Kennery and Zander Medeiros. She was the sister of Manuel Sousa, Fatima Mello, Lauratina Leite and Rosemary Pflumm.

Mrs. Braga was educated in Portugal and employed by American Tourister and R & J Manufacturing before retiring. She was a former member of the Legion of Mary of St. Elizabeth Church.  

Her funeral services were held April 25 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Helena DeBraga and David Cordeiro. The offertory gifts were presented by Joe Braga, John Braga, Grace Cordeiro, Arthur DeBraga and Sandy DeBraga. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Joshua Braga, Timothy Medeiros, Sylvester Mello, Andrew Johnson, Peter Ferreira and Matthew Braga.
