Maria Helena (Costa) Cordeiro, 57, of Addy Drive, passed away on May 7, 2017 at home. She was the wife of Manuel Lopes Cordeiro.
Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of Jose and Ascencao (Viveiros) Costa. She is survived by her children, Caterina Pimentel and her husband Carlos, Emanuel Cordeiro; and grandchildren, Emma Pimentel and Abbigale Pimentel. She was the sister of Duarte Costa, Natalia Costa, Lucia Costa, Aldina Cordeiro and Louis Costa.
Mrs. Cordeiro was educated in Portugal and employed by Salve Regina University and Robin Rug as a housekeeper before retiring.
Her funeral services were held May 10 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. John E. Abreu at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Liturgical readings were by Nicole Albano and Sandy Souza, and the offertory gifts were presented by Aldina Cordeiro, Natalia Costa and Duarte Costa. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Eric Leitao, Nate Amaral, Paul Albano, Ryan Cordeiro, Hermano Cordeiro and Terry Cordeiro.
