Mark R. Matusak, 66, Tiverton

Mark R. Matusak, 66, of Tiverton, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of 43 years to Suzanne R. (Brower) Matusak.

Mark was born in Syracuse, New York, the son of the late Rodney J. and Shirley (Whitman) Matusak. He was a graduate of Niskayuna High School, class of 1970, and the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. Mr. Matusak was a freelance graphic designer.

He cherished the time he spent with is family and friends. Mark enjoyed taking trips to Fogland Beach and watching the sunset on the bay. He was a car enthusiast who collected die cast cars.

Survivors, besides his wife, are a daughter, Jodie B. Matusak of Tiverton; a brother, Robin J. Matusak of Latham, NY; along with five nieces and nephews.

Mark’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 27, from 10 to 11a.m. with a Mass of Requiem Eucharist to follow at 11a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, 1956 Main Road, Tiverton. Burial will be private at the request of the family.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
