Martha Alice McLaughlin, 89, of Barrington, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late John J. McLaughlin for 56 years and daughter to the late Francis and Sophia (Gesicki) Garson.
She was a Barrington school teacher for 30 years and enjoyed tennis, reading, bridge, and Phoebe, her dog.
She leaves behind two daughters, Maureen M. Morris and her husband Ray of Barrington, and Eileen M. Higgins and her late husband Jay also of Barrington. She also leaves five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Martha was predeceased by her two sisters, Mildred Golembeski and Florence Franklin.
A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, March 3, at 9:30 a.m. with calling hours from 9 to 9:30 a.m. in St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington, RI 02806. Burial will be private.
