Mary Dellefratte, 93, of Barrington

Mary (DiMatteo) Dellefratte, age 93, of Barrington, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 in Crestwood Nursing Home, Warren. She was the wife of the late Anthony Dellefratte. 

Born in Barrington, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Michelina (DeSalvo) DiMatteo, she was a lifelong Barrington resident. She attended Peck High School and was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. Mary worked as a seamstress in various garment shops during her lifetime. 

She loved her family dearly, was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, enjoyed sewing for her family, loved watching game shows and playing solitaire on her computer. 

Mary is survived by a sister, Adeline Serio of Barrington; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the mother of the late Cheryl and Louise Dellefratte and sister of the late Nicholas DiMatteo and Angelina Camara. 

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 9 a.m. from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, 341 Maple Ave, Barrington. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s honor may be made to: Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital Foundation, Development Office, PO BOX H, Providence, RI 02903. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
