Maurice L. Gagne, 85, of Westport, passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Dolores G. (Vezina) Gagne.
Born in Westport, son of the late Ovila and Jeanette (Courville) Gagne, he had been a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he worked as a supervisor for the Massachusetts D.P.W. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Gagne was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport and an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors along with his wife include his two sons, Marc A. Gagne and his wife Linda of Rehoboth and Paul M. Gagne of Westport; his two daughters, Michelle A. Albernaz and her husband Joseph of Westport and Claudette R. Servant of Fall River; one brother, Robert Gagne of Peabody; one sister, Rita J. Perry of Westport; six grandchildren: Joseph, Melissa, Daniel, Courtney, Jeremy and Tiffany, his constant caregiver; eight great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Saturday, Oct. 31, from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport, at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 p.m.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
