The current Bristol Town Council, through now retired Walter Burke, of the Parks and Recreation Department, had previously asked me to be chairman of an Aquatics Center Exploration Committee (to be built at the Asylum Road Recreation Department). I was happy to serve and accepted their request.
Currently, I am leading our committee, in making progress towards answering two important questions: 1) Is it feasible? and 2) Can it be sustainable and not a financial burden to taxpayers? Our town owns 5 1/2 acres of land and an infrastructure building to anchor to; All of which are debt-free. The work to determine those answers continues, but I am positive.
