Michael “Elvis” Paiva, 43, of Seaview Drive, passed away on March 31 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Alda M. (Cabral) Paiva and the late Luis F. Paiva.

He is survived by his brother, Nelson Paiva and his girlfriend Carmen of Worcester; his sister, Sandra Lotero and her husband David of Bristol; and his niece, Syriana Lotero. He was the nephew of Mary Jo Mello (the late Manuel), Eduarda Branco (Adelino), Rosa Paiva (the late Agostinho), Joseph Paiva (Odelia), Luciano Cabral (Isaura), Mary Avila (Joseph), and Bertha Dischert (Dan).

Michael attended Bristol schools and was a graduate of the Seekonk Educational Collaborative. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church and a member of Amigos de Rabo de Peixe, Santissima Trindade, Holy Ghost Committee, Santo Cristo Committee and the Romeiro’s.

“Elvis” was an entertainer and, as a member of Banda Filharmonica, accompanied many families with his accordion during the Santo Cristo, Holy Ghost and Santissima Trindade feasts, as well many holiday celebrations. He enjoyed karaoke and car shows, bringing his “Caddy” to it show off.

His funeral services were held April 4 from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial concelebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso, Rev. Luis Garcia Dutra and Rev. Jeremy Rodrigues at St. Elizabeth’s Church. The liturgical readings were by Stephanie Tucker and Lori Mendonca. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Nick Paiva and the offertory gifts were presented by Alyssa Oliveira, Demi Dischert and Melanie Parent. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jeffrey Branco, Paul Branco, Gary Mello, Steven Mello, Lenny Paiva and Alex Paiva.
