Michael J. Rainey, 59, of Pasadena, California and formerly of Warren, died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.
Michael was born in Fall River, Ma., the son of Marilyn E. (Stratton) Rainey of Bristol and the late Robert Rainey. He was a financial analyst for Raytheon for more than 25 years, working in California and previously in Boston. Michael had lived in California for 17 years coming, from Boston and Warren.
He was a former parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church and was an avid hiker who loved spending time outdoors.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Bob Rainey and his wife Joyce of Narragansett and Doug Rainey of Boston; his sister, Patricia Patterson of North Scituate; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Jim Rainey.
His funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, from Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Bristol.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
