Moored boat nearly sinks in Weaver Cove, Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police report from over the past week.

Tuesday, Dec. 15

Daniel Morgenweck, 28, of 95 West Main St., Wickford, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Mr. Morgenweck’s car was pulled over on Middle Road around 3 p.m. after leaving the lane of travel, according to police. During a search of the vehicle, police said they found two and half pills of Adderall inside a bottle that listed a different medication than what had been prescribed for Mr. Mordenweck.

Wednesday, Dec. 16

Kylie M. Grossman, 20, of 143 Third St., Apt. 2L, Newport, was arrested at 12:39 a.m. on a bench warrant issued by Second District Court. Police stopped Ms. Grossman’s car on Memorial Drive because its rear license plate was not illuminated, police said.

Thursday, Dec. 17

Police investigated a report of a sinking board that was attached to a mooring in the Weaver Cove area. When police arrived the boat, named “Twisted,” was nearly underwater. The owner was notified and by Dec. 20 the vessel was pumped out and removed from the area.

Saturday, Dec. 19

Kyle J. Rossilli, 24, of 30 Martello St., East Providence, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense), after his car was pulled over at about 1:30 a.m. on Bristol Ferry Road near Pheasant Drive for leaving the lane of travel, police said.

William P. Arena, 51, of 79 East Main Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) at 9:48 p.m. Mr. Arena’s vehicle was pulled over at Cumberland Farms at Stub Toe Lane after leaving the lane of travel, police said.

Kaeli C. Vigus, 23, of 303 Russells Mills, Dartmouth, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Her car was pulled over on West Main Road near Melville School around 2 a.m. because it had left the lane of travel, police said.

Monday, Dec. 21

Paola Tarrant, 33, of 41 Sherwood Terrace, was charged with domestic assault following an incident at her home that was first reported at 9:47 a.m.
