PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Trash Collaborative (portsmouthtrash@gmail.com) has scheduled two more signup events for Saturday, Dec. 16.

The collaborative has negotiated a group rate for trash pickup to help residents who’d prefer to use a curbside collection service.

MTG Disposal will be at Montaup Country Club, 500 Anthony Road, from 9 a.m. to noon and representatives of the trash collaborative will be at Ragged Island Brewing, 200 High Point Ave. Unit B6 (in the Portsmouth Business Park off Hedly Street), from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Residents who sign up this month will secure a rate of $35 per month, with service beginning in January. According to the collaborative, the contract includes:

• Weekly trash pickup

• Bi-weekly recycling pickup

• Seasonal suspension of service for a $25 fee (e.g. snowbirds)

• a 95-gallon waste bin and 95-gallon recycling bin, with no dropoff fee

• Additional bulky waste pickup collected curbside, by appointment, for a fee ($15 small item, $25 large item)

• Hazardous waste and auto parts will not be accepted.

• Yard waste pickup bi-weekly from April 1 to Dec. 15

• No environmental fees, no administration fees, no delivery fees, no recycling offset fees

Those who are unable to sign up in person can also call MTG Disposal directly at 401/434-1344 and mention the Portsmouth Trash Collaborative to get the group rate.
