An accident on Metacom Avenue in Warren involving a motorcyclist and a car occurred on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 26, sending the rider of the motorcycle to the hospital with serious injuries.

Motorcyclist struck in Warren sustains serious injuries

An accident involving a motorcyclist and a car occurred on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 26, sending the rider of the motorcycle to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to Lt. Christopher Perreault of the Warren Police Department:

“At 5:51 p.m. this evening [Thursday, Oct. 26], The Warren Police Department received calls reporting a motor vehicle accident having just taken place at Metacom Avenue by Ocean State Plaza. Upon officers arriving on scene, it was found that a motor vehicle had collided with a motorcycle being operated by an adult male (Age: 60). The adult male operating the motorcycle sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. At this time, the extent of his injuries is still unknown.

Warren Police Accident Reconstruction officers were called to the scene and are completing a reconstruction of the accident.

Perreault, reached Monday for updates, responded with the following:
As of [Monday, Oct. 30], there is no additional information regarding the accident other than that the motorcycle operator sustained severe injuries but these injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
