For the first time in the school’s history, the Mt. Hope High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both qualified for the Rhode Island Interscholastic League state championship meet, to be held this Sunday in Ponagansett.

The boys finished the year with a 6-5 record (fifth place in their division), and this is only their second time qualifying for the state meet. The girls finished with an 8-5 record (sixth place in their division), and it is also their second time ever qualifying for the state meet.
