Nancy Church (Mossop) Wennerstrom, 85, of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Fla. and formerly of Northbrook, Ill., passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 17, 2015, in the company of her children.  She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Jack A. Wennerstrom.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Lincoln Mossop and Lillian Church Mossop. Her early childhood was spent in Bristol before moving to Providence, where she attended both Lincoln School and Hope High School. Likewise, her early summers were spent on Prudence Island and Narragansett Bay, where she developed a love for the sea. World travel and ocean cruising later became a passion, which she generously shared with her family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her three children, her son William Lincoln Materna and daughter-in-law Barbara of Providence, and her devoted daughters Wendy Church Johannsen of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and June Wallace Dales of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Christian W. Johannsen, Lily Ann and Lincoln W. Dales, and Christine M. Loeffler (Anthony W.) of Denver, Colo., and their children, W. Lincoln and Preston T. Loeffler. Additionally, she was predeceased by her adored brother W. Lincoln Mossop Jr. and is also survived by his wife Terry and their children, her loving niece and God Daughter Ellen Mossop Saville, her husband Wilson G. Saville II, and her nephew W. Lincoln Mossop III.

Her funeral will be held Monday, August 24 at 11 a.m. at Saint Michael’s Episcopal Church, 399 Hope St., Bristol, RI.  Burial will immediately follow at the North Burial Ground, Bristol. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 72753, Providence, RI 02907-2813.
