Troy Lebeau's shop is offering health-conscious residents a new way to stay fit or just feel good.

House of Spas, located at 65 Bay Spring Ave., specializes in hot tubs and swim spas. Mr. Lebeau said the spas are perfect for people needing therapeutic relief from aches and pains, and also serve as great a no-impact fitness alternative.

House of Spas opened up earlier this year and features Signature Spas, which are built in America. The store also has a large selection of refurbished spas, and spa units for rent.

"We do it all here… from start to finish," said Mr. Lebeau, adding that his shop offers free consultations for people interested in spas. House of Spas also handles installation, service to spas, and removal of old hot tub units.

"We're fully licensed and insured, and we have crane service," he said.

Mr. Lebeau said there are some misconceptions surrounding hot tubs and swim spas. He said people do not need an enormous amount of space to install a hot tub or swim spa — "We've got some that are about four feet by four feet," he said. The installation can take place in a short period of time, once the electrical connections are prepped and ready.

The local business also offers larger spas — units that hold upwards of 7,000 gallons of water. Some are designed specifically for swimming; they feature a series of jets that create a one-way current for people to swim against.

House of Spas also features hot tubs that are perfect for outdoor patios, said Mr. Lebeau. The hot tubs are equipped with stereo systems and lighting. He encouraged people to stop by the Bay Spring Avenue showroom to peruse the selection of spas.

"They're great for people with back pain or leg pain or shoulder pain," Mr. Lebeau said. "They're doctor-recommended."

The shop also has refurbished spas that are less expensive and offers rental spas.

House of Spas is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The business is also open on Sundays by appointment.
