New class at Bristol Art Museum with local artist Kendra Ferreira

Join our new class “Creating Art with Colored Pencils” on Friday mornings beginning May 12th thru June 16th.
Kendra is a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America in two areas, holding a second signature membership in the exploration of using other mediums and surfaces with colored pencil. She is an artist member of the Art League of Rhode Island, Nineteen on Paper, Providence Art Club, Salmagundi Club, NYC, Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, NYC, and the American Artists’ Professional League, NYC. Her artwork has been exhibited in exhibitions throughout the US, has won various awards and been included in four colored pencil books.
Classes will be held for six weeks beginning May 12th from 9:30 – Noon. The price for this course is $130 for museum members, $140 for non-members. Please call the museum at 401-253-4400 or email the museum at info@bristolartmuseum.org. to register for the class.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
