PORTSMOUTH — There’s a new yoga studio in town.

Shunya Studio, a yoga and lifestyle boutique, will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 104 Clock Tower Square, off West Main Road.

Shunya Studio is a collaboration between Patti Doyle, owner of Thames Street Yoga in Newport; Kyla Maher, who owns Long Time Sun Apparel in Newport; and Danielle Rinaldi, owner of Newport Skin Rejuvenation Center.

“It’s kind of of a unique concept in that it’a a yoga studio with a retail component and a skin care component,” said Ms. Doyle. “We all have our own businesses.”

A schedule of heated, non-heated, beginner and advanced yoga classes will be offered. The boutique will feature yoga clothing, mats, yogi toes, jewelry and candles, fresh juice and healthy snacks daily. The skin center will offer, by appointment, laser treatments and microdermabrasion.

At 4 p.m. on Saturday there will be a live music free yoga class, appropriate for all levels and led by Ms. Doyle, closing with a gong bath and seated meditation by Ms. Maher.

That will be followed by an open house at 6 p.m. Stores in the Clock Tower Plaza, including Stalise, Deborah Winthrop Lingerie and Wilson Art, will remain open until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

From Sunday, Jan. 31, through Friday, Feb. 5, all yoga classes will be offered complimentary. A full schedule of classes can be found at http://shunyastudio.com.

A raffle of various prizes will be held to benefit the James L. Maher Center of Middletown.
