EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence Firefighters were called to the scene of a residential fire Friday morning, Dec. 14, in the Rumford section of the city at the north end Pawtucket Avenue.

EPFD Chief Oscar Elmasian reported upon arrival at the scene of 30 Sheridan Ave. crews found the second floor the raised ranch-style home engulfed in flames over a living section including the attached garage structure.

The chief said the flames were “venting out” of windows. He added it took approximately 15-to-20 minutes for firefighters to bring the situation under control.

All occupants of the house were able to exit the structure unharmed, according to the chief. No injuries were reported for either the residents or the firefighters. The home is unoccupiable. The structure suffered heavy smoke and fire damage.

Chief Elmasian said the fire is currently investigation by state and local officials.
