PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

Patrick O. Swistak, 33, of 21 Hunter Ave., Newport, was charged at 10:24 a.m. with driving with a suspended license. Police pulled his vehicle over on Route 24 South because several registration stickers were obstructing the license plate numbers. A records check also revealed an active bench warrant issued by 2nd District Court, police said.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

Maria D. Muro Castro, 49, of Ashaway, was charged around 12:20 a.m. with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic willful trespassing. Police said a Portsmouth man had asked Ms. Castro to come to his home to help him with a matter, but changed his mind when she showed up at the home intoxicated. She became aggressive, forcefully pushing the door open and screaming and cursing at him, the man told police.

Peter E. Rinkel, 19, of 210 Cedar Ave., was charged at 1:36 a.m. with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police stopped his car on Route 24 North near Sprague Street because a rear license plate light wasn’t working.

Saturday, Oct. 22

James M. Lombardo, 42, of 37 Sherman St., Bristol, was charged with driving while intoxicated (second offense), driving without a license and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police said they made the arrest around 1 a.m. after observing Mr. Lombardo’s vehicle stopped on Anthony Road with its engine running and obstructing traffic.

Sunday, Oct. 23

William S. Weller, 25, of 21 Russell Ave., Newport, was charged around 2 a.m. with driving while intoxicated (first offense). An officer assisted a Navy Police officer who said he pulled the car over after observing it speeding on West Main Road and drifting in and out of the lane of travel.

Alyssa M. Connery, 31, of 28 Lucy Ave., Tiverton, was charged at 1 p.m. with domestic assault. Ms. Connery was a passenger in a car traveling on West Main Road when she allegedly struck the driver — a 62-year-old Tiverton woman — several times with a closed fist around the neck and right shoulder, police said. The driver pulled over at Turkey Hill and called police.
