Paul A. Baraby, 47, Westport

Paul A. Baraby, 47, of Westport, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Fall River, son of William A. and Pauline L. (Canuel) Baraby, he was a lifelong resident of Westport.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport.  He had previously worked for Baraby Electric and was a call firefighter for the Westport Fire Dept.  Mr. Baraby graduated from Diman Regional High School where he excelled in many sports.  He enjoyed taking care of his pride and joy, his 1967 Firebird, spending time on the river on his boat, and being outdoors, but most of all he loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Including his parents, survivors include a brother, William G. Baraby and his wife Diane of Westport; a sister, Diane T. Moniz and her companion George Giguere of Westport; his companion, Debra Belanger of Westport; nieces and nephews, Melissa Chaunt, Thomas Moniz, Jr., Barbara Ferreira, Jessica Baraby and Keith Moniz; several great nieces and nephews; and a great great nephew.

He was brother of the late Robert N. Baraby.

The family would like to thank the Westport Police Dept. and the Westport Fire Dept. for their assistance and support throughout Paul’s struggle with addiction.

Funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Thursday, Aug. 20, from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 9 a.m.. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church at 10. Calling hours, Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
