Phyllis "Penny" (Newton) Scully, 81, of Naples, Fla. and formerly of Barrington, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018.
She was the wife of the late Daniel Scully II; mother of the late Daniel Scully III; daughter of the late Charles and Lois Newton; and sister-in-law of the late Carol Scully.
She is survived by her sons, Karl Scully and his wife Anette, and Sean Scully and his wife Bethany, as well as her sister, Charlotte Jacquart and her husband Jeffrey; sister-in-law Helene McIntosh and her husband Douglas; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.
Penny was a graduate of Barrington High School Class of 1954, and Roger Williams School of Nursing Class of 1957. She was a class leader in school and a devoted nurse throughout her working years.
She was a great listener and would always have your back. A pillar in times of tragedies; a bearer of great burdens; an optimist and inspiration to others.
May Penny rest in peace. She will be a huge loss to all who knew her.
