Barrington Police received a phone call on Monday morning, Dec. 3, from someone who spotted a strange object on Federal Road and believed it might be a sparkler bomb.
About two weeks ago, someone detonated a sparkler bomb on Sowams Road — the explosion startled residents, and the incident is still under investigation by the state fire marshal's office.
On Monday, Dec. 3, police quickly responded to Federal Road and located the suspicious object, which turned out to be a weirdly-shaped piece of foam rubber. Police said the foam rubber was shaped like a pistol and had a piece of white plastic sticking out the end.
Police said it was not dangerous, and removed it from the roadway.
