Two 17-year-olds facing disorderly conduct charges

Barrington police charged two 17-year-old Barrington boys with disorderly conduct after a fight broke out at the high school last week.

Police said the two boys squared off inside a restroom at Barrington High School on Wednesday, May 8. It was not clear why the two boys were fighting.

Police said one of the boys punched the other in the face as he placed his backpack on the floor. By the time school officials reached the restroom, there was blood on the sinks and the floor.

Following the fight, police responded to a Barrington home for breaking and entering. When officers arrived they found two teenage girls outside the home, waiting to confront the male teenager inside who was one of the boys involved in the fight. Police told the girls they were trespassing and had to leave the property.

Eighth-grader charged

A 13-year-old Barrington boy is due in Family Court after he allegedly attacked a 15-year-old Barrington boy.

Police said the incident occurred at about 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8 inside the high school locker room. The 13-year-old allegedly attacked the older boy, punching him numerous times. Other students had to pull the boy off the victim.

Police later charged the 13-year-old with vandalism/malicious injury to property, and simple assault or battery. It is not clear what led to the fight.
