PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Friday, May 6

Alexander J. Moore, 26, of 30 Washington St., Barrington, was charged at 10:15 a.m. with receiving stolen goods. While on patrol in the area of Anthony Road and the Montaup Country Club, an officer saw Mr. Moore walking an inoperable motorcycle on the side of the road. Police ran a check of the registration plate and it came back as stolen out of Providence. However, the motorcycle itself was a newer model that didn’t match the description of the stolen bike, police said. Mr. Moore said he had recently purchased the motorcycle through Craigslist and was unaware that the plate had been stolen.

Robert A. Amorin, 23, of 2448 South Main St., Apt. 19, Fall River, was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license. Police stopped his car on Route 24 northbound on the Boyd’s Lane on-ramp at 5:30 p.m. because a brake light was not working.

Christopher S. Smith, 33, of 262 Woodland Heights, Grayson, Ky., was charged at 6:16 p.m. with driving after his license had been denied, suspended or revoked; and obstructing a police officer in execution of duty. Police pulled Mr. Smith’s vehicle over on King Charles Drive because there was blue spray paint on a license plate that made it unreadable. Police said Mr. Smith initially identified himself as Charles E. Smith.

Saturday, May 7

Jessica L. Medeiros, 27, of 69 Old Fort Road, Newport, was charged at 1:42 a.m. with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police pulled the Jeep Wrangler Ms. Medeiros was driving over on East Main Road near Union Street because it had left the lane of travel.

JeanPaul Bouchard, 25, of 56 Gatehouse Drive, Fall River, was charged at 9:35 a.m. with possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and driving after his license had been denied, suspended or revoked. Police said they pulled Mr. Bouchard over on Boyd’s Lane because his car had a headlight out and no front registration plate. Police said Mr. Bouchard alerted them to two Ecstasy pills that were in the pocket of his jeans.

Sunday, May 8

Three people were charged, two for felony drug possession, after the car they were riding in was pulled over on West Main Road near Stringham Road shortly before 6:30 p.m. because the driver wasn’t wearing her seatbelt. During a search of the vehicle police seized 20 small baggies containing heroin, as well as Suboxone, Clonazepam, Zolpidem, marijuana, a marijuana pipe and two syringes. One of the passengers, Sarah L. Fortuna, 28, of 55 Carol St., Somerset, was charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance. Another, Michael J. Habib, 35, also of 55 Carol St., Somerset, was charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance. Police said another passenger, Richard M. Mullins, 27, of 78 Liberty St. Apt. 1, Fall River, was wanted on a bench warrant issued from 4th District Court.

Monday, May 9

A 17-year-old boy was charged at 3:07 p.m. with misdemeanor possession of marijuana after police found about two ounces of the drug along with a digital scale inside the vehicle he was driving. Police said they pulled his car over on East Main Road near Sprague Street because it had run a stop sign.

Kevin G. Wertens, 49, of 44 West Memorial Boulevard, Newport, was charged with domestic assault at 8:21 p.m., shortly after police responded to a Tallman Avenue home for a report of a domestic disturbance. Police said Mr. Wertens aggressively grabbed both arms of a woman at the residence.
