Police: Students were playing beer pong at Barrington Beach

Barrington Police charge six Brown University students

An off-duty Barrington Police officer called the station at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, after noticing a group of young men playing beer pong at the town beach.

Police responded to the scene and located the group — there were eight men, all between the ages of 18 and 20, and all of them Brown University students, according to the report.

Police said the men were playing beer pong on a makeshift table in the back of a pickup truck. Police asked the men if they were 21. One of the men allegedly said he was and provided an ID, but later told the officer the ID was a fake.

Police later charged Guillaume B. Rombaut-Enriquez, 20, of Providence, with giving a false document to a public official, obstructing an officer in execution of duty, and possession of alcohol by an underage person. Police also charged Samuel Walhout, 20, of Wheaton, Ill., Grant Lumkong, 20, of Encinitas, Calif., Thomas Barton, 20, of Conway, Mass., Austin Reiner, 19, of Atlanta, Ga., and Lukas Jarasunas, 20, of Dana Point, Calif., all with possession of alcohol by an underage person.

Police said two of the men were not charged — they consented to breathalyzer tests that showed they had not been drinking.
