PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School girls’ varsity soccer team scored five goals in the first half and never looked back in a 5-0 shutout win over Prout at home Monday night.

It was the last regular season game for the lady Patriots, who finished with a 4-8-3 record in Division I.

Senior Claire Williams led the scoring with three goals, with juniors Sarah Nolan and Ashlyn Rogers adding one apiece.

Nolan also had two assists, and senior Jesse Chen and sophomore Grace Gesmondi also had an assist each.

Junior goalkeeper Eirann Evans had three saves.

Senior Michaela Martin, who suffered a torn ACL earlier in the season that knocked her out of competitive play, took part in the kick-off at the start of Monday’s game.
