PORTSMOUTH — The Division 2 Portsmouth High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team had a 7-4 lead at halftime but couldn’t hold on against North Kingstown at home Thursday, eventually losing 13-11.

Despite the loss, it was another impressive showing against a Division 1 team. Portsmouth took down D-1 South Kingstown on April 25.

Aidan Bowen and Will Morgan each had three goals and an assist for Portsmouth, and Evan Alvanas added two goals. Ben O’Hearn, who led the team with six ground balls, had six assists and a goal.

Jack Damon (one assist) and Frank Hardney had a goal apiece. Zach Rahilly had one assist and Malcolm Bowen had 17 saves in net

John Roche and Tyler McDonald played well at defensive midfield.
