Portsmouth Police charge local woman with felony assault

PORTSMOUTH — Sharon P. Watterson, 70, of 22 Madison Way, was charged with domestic felony assault on Tuesday, March 20.

Police made the arrest after responding to her home shortly before 1 a.m. to investigate a report of a domestic assault and disturbance.

Here are some other highlights from the Portsmouth Police report from over the past week:

Monday, March 12

Heather E. McGuire, 49, of 66 Third St., Newport, was charged with domestic cyberstalking after police in Newport picked her up on a Portsmouth warrant around 7:20 p.m.

Wednesday, March 14

Stephanie D. Peno, 27, of 19 Wisdom Ave., Providence, was charged with obstructing an officer in execution of duty. She was arrested on a warrant around 11 a.m.

Friday, March 16

Karoleigh D. Jackson, 46, of 85 Bogle St., Apt. 2, Fall River, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation at the Mobil Extra Mart on West Main Road around 1:30 a.m. Ms. Jackson was also cited for refusing a chemical test, police said.

Friday, March 16

Thomas J. Holmes, 41, of 10 Cathy Cirle, was charged with domestic assault after police responded to his home around 7 p.m. to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Saturday, March 17

Michael P. Cusack, 55, of 391 American Legion Highway, Westport, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on Route 24 North at Cedar Island shortly before 2 a.m. Mr. Cusack was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, police said.

Neal J. Manaskie, 27, of 142 D St., Apt. 2, South Boston, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) at about 7:15 p.m. Police pulled Mr. Manaskie over for a traffic violation at Clements’ Marketplace on East Main Road. 

Stephanie E. Gleeson, 33, of 80 Robin Road, was charged with domestic willful trespass (first offense) after police responded to the area of Cathy Circle to investigate a report of suspicious activity.

Sunday, March 18

Brennan P. Neuman, 22, of 51 Middle Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) following a motor vehicle accident on Middle Road at Lilac Lane around 1:45 a.m. Mr. Neuman was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Tuesday, March 20

Ryan W. Bartell, 21, of 760 Bristol Ferry Road, was charged with firing in a compact area after he was arrested on a warrant at the Richtmyer Apartment House on Bristol Ferry Road around 9:30 p.m.

Wednesday, March 21

Brian C. Barnes, 24, of 61 Slater Ave., Apt. 12, Providence, was charged with breaking and entering into a building with criminal intent after police responded to an alarm sounding at East Coast Construction on Chase Road around 12:40 a.m.
