PORTSMOUTH — Six people were charged with driving while intoxicated by Portsmouth Police over the weekend — three of them within a four-hour time period.

The first came on Saturday, June 4, when Manuel Nunes, 56, of 7 Verndale Circle, Bristol, was charged at 12:40 a.m. Police stopped his car for speeding on West Main Road near Stringham Road.

At about 3:20 p.m. that day, they charged Phoebe A. Zuromski, 25, of 68 Seaconnet Boulevard.

Police said another driver traveling behind her on East Main Road observed the car strike the curb three or four times and swerve in and out of its lane of travel multiple times, according to police. The witness followed Mr. Zuromski into the parking lot of Clements’ Marketplace to see if she was OK before calling police.

Later that day, around 4:45 p.m., police arrested Holly A. Coelho, 34, of 51 Michaels Lane, Tiverton. Police said she was driving 60 mph in a 25 mph zone before being pulled over on Park Avenue. Ms. Coelho was also charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, police arrested Alejandro W. Flanagan, 23, of 28 Third St., Apt. 321, Warren, after his Ford pickup ht a fire hydrant on Indian Avenue, police said.

A witness at the scene had taken Mr. Flanagan’s keys to prevent him from leaving the scene, according to police.

Police stayed busy with DWI arrests on Sunday, June 5.

At 12:42 a.m., they charged Silvana C. Waghelstein, 37, of 1 Garfield Ave., Rumford. An officer stopped her car on West Main Road near the Middletown line after noticing it had two deflated tires and damage to its front end and passenger side front bumper.

Less than an hour later, at 1:27 a.m. police arrested Marc T. Sanford, 29, of 87 Dighton Ave. Police pulled his vehicle over on Massasoit Avenue after observing it drifting out of the lane of travel several times, police said.
